Remote formation — FAQ

Can I form the company without coming to Romania?

Yes. With a power of attorney we handle the entire incorporation remotely; you sign digitally or at a local notary/embassy.

How do documents get signed?

Either with a qualified electronic signature, or a notarised + apostilled/legalised power of attorney from your country.

Will I be able to open a bank account remotely?

Often yes — we guide you to banks and EMIs that onboard non-residents remotely; some local banks may require one short visit.

The remote formation flow, step by step

Forming a Romanian SRL without travelling follows a clear sequence. First we draft the articles of association and a power of attorney (PoA) that authorises us to act on your behalf. You sign it — either with a qualified electronic signature, or by having it notarised and then apostilled (or legalised) in your country and translated. In parallel, the non-resident founder needs a Romanian tax identification number, the NIF. With the PoA and documents in hand, we file at the trade registry, ONRC, and follow the file through to your company's CUI (tax ID). After incorporation we handle VAT registration where applicable and guide you through opening a bank account, remotely where the bank or EMI allows it.

On timing, expect the document and signing stage to depend largely on how quickly you can complete notarisation and apostille in your own country — that is often the variable part. Once the file reaches ONRC, registration follows the registry's own processing times. We give you a realistic estimate for your situation rather than a fixed promise, because external steps are outside any provider's control.

Who does what

What do I have to do? Provide your identification, sign the power of attorney, and complete notarisation/apostille locally if your signing method requires it. That is the bulk of your involvement.

What do you handle? Drafting, the ONRC filing through to CUI, VAT registration and bank-account guidance. Requirements and timelines change periodically, so confirm current rules for your country before starting.
